Ruby+Associates Wins New Health Care Client
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., June 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Ruby+Associates, the
constructability-focused structural engineering firm, today discussed its
participation in the new 1.2 million sq ft Wishard hospital campus scheduled for
completion in late 2013. The campus features an approximately 327 bed hospital,
a 200-room ambulatory care building, a 110-bed emergency department and a
2,700-car parking garage along with a faculty and research building. The Wishard
project capitalizes on Ruby’s extensive experience in healthcare.
“We have been fortunate to work with Ben Hur Construction and Hammerts Iron
Works, key members of the construction team at Wishard,” said Jeff Gasparott,
PE, SECB, Ruby Project Manager. “Our constructability approach enables us to
develop efficient construction methods for our clients. As engineers, we
understand the challenges presented by unique design and can identify
opportunities to reduce or avoid costs. This is the value our clients expect
from Ruby on every project.”
Marion County, In., residents, including the 85 percent of voters who approved
the new facilities, can expect state-of-the-art health care for years to come.
The building, set to transform the Indianapolis skyline, blends glass, as a
representation of transparency and clean design, and steel as the strong
resilient infrastructure. The hospital’s cantilever design is symbolic of
Wishard’s outreach into the community and of its higher purpose and greater
responsibility.
“At Ruby, we look at every project as an opportunity to provide value to the
construction team, and we certainly have that chance at Wishard,” said
Gasparott. “Our firm has built a portfolio of success stories in the health care
sector and is eager to apply that expertise at Wishard.”
