Thermafiber Receives ED+C Readers’ Choice Award
WABASH, Indiana, Oct. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Thermafiber, Inc. was awarded a
2011 Readers Choice Award from ED+C magazine. Thermafiber’s RainBarrier, a
mineral wool continuous insulation (ci), was selected for its sustainability and
performance attributes.
RainBarrier is used in rain screen and cavity wall construction systems as the
external insulation. The fire resistance, vapor permeability, moisture
resistance and energy saving R-value have contributed to the acceptance of this
product. Mineral wool is used as a replacement for foam and other combustible
insulation products in facade and masonry construction. RainBarrier 45 is
available with up to 90% recycled content.
“We think RainBarrier is a great product and it has been one of the fastest
growing products that we have ever developed,” says Steve Edris, President and
CEO. “It is really rewarding that others in the design and construction
community also recognize the benefits of mineral wool in general and
specifically in these continuous insulation applications. We are very bullish
about the future of RainBarrier and our many other new products. Through the
construction downturn, mineral wool market share continues to grow versus other
types of insulation. We expect future demand growth as the building community
discovers all of the benefits and new uses for mineral wool.”
