RONCALLI BAND MEMBERS ADVANCE TO STATE ISSMA

INDIANAPOLIS – February 14, 2011 – The Roncalli High School Band is advancing 12 events to the ISSMA State Solo and Ensemble Contest on Saturday, February 26, 2011. Twenty-one members of the Roncalli Band and String Ensemble performed at the ISSMA District Solo and Ensemble Contest on Saturday, February 5th at Perry 6th Grade Academy. The instrumentalists earned 15 gold medals, 9 silver medals and one bronze medal.

The following students earned a Gold medal in Group I and will be advancing to ISSMA State: Flute – Haley Craig and Noriel Dalman, Piccolo – Noriel Dalman, Oboe – Bryan Rainey, Clarinet – Abby Koop, Mary Oelker and Christian Powers, Trumpet – EB Laut and Alex Betz, Euphonium – Michael Millott, Drum Set – Mitchell Pavnica and Woodwind trio – Craig, Rainey and Powers.
