Kroger and United Food and Commercial Workers Local 700 Ratify Agreements

SOUTH BEND, Ind., July 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Associates of Kroger’s Central
Division, an affiliate of The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), have ratified agreements
with United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 700.

The agreements cover approximately 800 associates working in nine Kroger stores
in Northwest Indiana.

“Kroger and UFCW reached a good agreement that provides wage increases,
affordable quality health care and a stable pension for our associates and their
families,” said Bob Moeder, Kroger Central Division president. “Our associates
will continue to have one of the best total compensation packages in our

The Kroger Central Division is headquartered in Indianapolis. It includes 147
food stores, 122 pharmacies and 64 fuel centers operating under five banners:
