Hoosier Academies Begins 2011-2012 School Year with Newly Established Hoosier Academies Virtual School

INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ –The 2011 school year marks
the introduction of Hoosier Academies Virtual School (HAVS). HAVS is a tuition
free, full-time online public charter school that will serve students in grades
K through 10 across the state. Hoosier Academies uses the award-winning K12
online school program, which is offered in online public schools in 29 states
and the District of Columbia.

Recent legislation expanded online public school options in the state of
Indiana. As a result, Hoosier Academies will expand the Indiana Virtual Pilot
School to create a new statewide online public school for families, with classes
beginning August 8th.

Lynn Black, Hoosier Academies Head of Schools, said, “This is a great
opportunity for Indiana students and families seeking an innovative and uniquely
personalized public school option. Online schools are successful for students
who desire a more individualized learning method. After operating our blended
learning schools for three years, we’re excited to utilize some of the best
practices to offer a high quality online school to students across Indiana.”

Hoosier Academies operates three innovative public schools: the newly
established Hoosier Academies Virtual School (K to 10), and two blended schools,
Hoosier Academies Muncie (grades K to 8), and Hoosier Academies Indianapolis (K
to 12).

Hoosier Academies is currently accepting applications for all three schools for
the 2011-2012 school year.

Hoosier Academies teachers provide instruction, guidance, support, and regularly
interact with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online
discussions, phone, and face-to-face meetings.

Online learning is one of the fastest growing areas in education. More than 4
million students are enrolled in online learning in the U.S. Online public
schools such as Hoosier Academies offer students expanded course options,
