Full Renovation Completed at Courtyard by Marriott Indianapolis Capitol

MERRILLVILLE, Ind., Sept. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — In keeping with the Courtyard
by Marriott’s theme of “It’s a New Stay,” the property near the State Capitol in
Indianapolis recently underwent a $2 million renovation.

“We unveiled our new look on May 25, which was just in time to welcome our
guests coming to the city for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500,” said
General Manager Jenny Richter.

All guest rooms and common areas were upgraded with the lobby now sporting the
brand’s Refreshing Business concept. Gone is the traditional front desk. In its
place are separate welcome pedestals that create a more personal environment
when guests check in. The flexibility of the design allows the front desk hosts
to move about and show guests the lobby features and provide assistance.

Also part of the Refreshing Business lobby concept, media pods offer guests
individual areas where they can work alone or with a small group of colleagues.
Designed for comfort, amenities in the pod include a work table, free wireless
Internet and a 22″ Direct TV equipped LCD television. “Our business travelers
find the pods very convenient, and they like that seating can be arranged to
best suit their needs,” Richter said. She also noted that there are ample
electrical outlets and plenty of seating options all over the lobby, ensuring
wherever a guest chooses to sit they can plug in their computer, charge their
phone, etc.

So that travelers feel connected to Indianapolis while visiting, the warm and
relaxing lounge area in the lobby includes a new 37″ high definition flat screen
television and a local library stocked with books about the area. “Our property
is right in the heart of the city and adjacent to the historic canal,” said
Richter. “This means places like the Indiana Convention Center, Conseco Field
House, Indianapolis Zoo, Circle Center Mall and Lucas Oil Stadium within walking
distance.”

Another signature element of the new lobby is the exclusive GoBoard® technology.
An interactive 52″ LCD touch screen board, visitors can access local
information, maps, weather, as well as news, business and sports headlines. They
can also navigate the board to find restaurants, events in the city, and
directions.

“We also renovated all 124 guest rooms,” Richter shared. “The rooms offer
luxurious Revive bedding, new 37″ high definition televisions, free wireless
Internet access and work desks with ergonomic chairs. “Our king rooms are very
popular, and families particularly like that they have a pullout sofa bed,”
Richter explained.

Fully understanding the needs of business and pleasure travelers, The Courtyard
by Marriott at the Indianapolis Capitol offers two distinct dining options for
breakfast. The Courtyard Cafe serves up a warm and tasty complimentary breakfast
buffet daily, while the Bistro offers several seasonal menu options in a quick
cafe environment. In the evening the Bistro transforms into a place to relax and
enjoy light evening fare, a craft beer, a glass of top quality wine or a
cocktail. Weather permitting, the outdoor patio is the perfect place to kick
back after a long day and a great location to try a specialty beverage made with
Starbucks® coffee.

To ensure guests don’t forgo their fitness routine when traveling, the hotel’s
fitness center has all new state-of-the-art treadmills, elliptical machines and
stationary bikes, plus free weights, exercise balls and towels. For year round
fun and relaxation, the hotel has a temperature-controlled indoor pool and
whirlpool.

“We are really pleased with the renovation and I’m sure our guests are as well.
The whole Courtyard culture is centered on providing guests with an unmatched
travel experience, and I know this is exactly what they’ll receive when staying
with us,” Richter shared.
