CouponCabin.com Launches Back-to-School Video Contest
WHITING, Ind., Aug. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — With a new school year right around
the corner, loads of new expenses are looming. Many of the financial struggles
schools will face this year are basic. In fact, according to a recent
CouponCabin.com survey conducted by Harris Interactive, more than one-third of
parents surveyed said that what their children’s schools need most are classroom
supplies and books, among many other things including building renovations and
tutoring programs.
To support schools in need, CouponCabin.com is hosting a Back-to-School video
contest that will help them to create better learning environments for their
students.
“In addition to helping shoppers save money, one of our core values is to give
back to the community,” said Jackie Warrick, Chief Savings Officer at
CouponCabin.com. “In 2010 alone, CouponCabin.com donated more than $750,000 to
local charitable organizations. Now, we’re empowering our users to make a
difference in their communities with our Back-to-School Contest.”
To learn more about how to enter a school, simply visit
www.backtoschoolcontest.com to fill out an entry form and submit a 60-second
video demonstrating how they’ll create a better place for students to learn and
grow. The videos will be judged on relevance to the theme of the contest,
originality and quality of production, creativity of how the proposed grant may
benefit the school and popularity (views, “Likes” and comments on YouTube).
Videos may be submitted from August 9- August 28. Judges will carefully review
each video and announce 15 finalists on September 5. All 15 videos will be
featured at www.BackToSchoolContest.com from September 6-18. Three winners will
be announced September 30. The prizes are as follows:
A+ – $15,000
A – $10,000
A- – $5,000
“This is the time to really spread the word and get your entire community
involved,” said Warrick. “Encourage your networks, friends and family to view,
‘Like’ and comment on your video. Remember, this feedback will count toward the
‘Popularity’ portion of the criteria!”
