The Securities & Insurance Licensing Association, Inc (SILA) is Pleased to Announce the Establishment of the Public SILA Foundation
INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — The SILA Foundation, Inc. an
Indiana nonprofit corporation with plans to apply as an IRS 501(c)3 nonprofit
entity, will focus on providing financial services support and services to the
general public. The purpose of the SILA Foundation is to offer an educational
forum for the public and educators through educational materials, courses,
public discussion groups, forums, panels, personal career development, job
training, job search capabilities, mentoring, scholarships as well as life
coaching in the uses and better understanding of industry products, services and
regulatory oversight.
Foundation President, John Humphries of Columbus Ohio, stated that “the SILA
Foundation is envisioned to provide scarce resources and general information to
the public, educators and non-member industry individuals. SILA Inc. continues
to serve its members from the industry, regulatory and vendor communities as it
has over the years. Establishing the SILA Foundation is just the next step to
share our knowledge and resources with segments of our country that will benefit
from our experience, especially during these difficult times.”
The Foundation’s Board is made up of individuals with industry experience. In
addition to John Humphries, other members include Vice President of Compliance,
Matt Ray, Austin, Texas; Vice President of Services & Scholarship, Deirdre
Patten, The Woodlands, Texas; Vice President SILA Relations, Diana Capes and
Secretary, Barbara Hales both of Brownsburg, Indiana and Treasurer, Kenneth
Martin, Madison, Wisconsin.
SILA plans to have the Foundation fully established and begin providing services
