WellPoint Care Management Recognized by Dorland Health for Outstanding Service to Seniors
INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — WellPoint, Inc., (NYSE: WLP) today
announced seven members of its care management team have been named as finalists
for the 2011 Dorland Health Silver Crown Awards, more than any other public or
private health care-related organization.
Each year Dorland Health recognizes organizations and professionals who provide
exceptional services, products and education to the over-55 population. With
nearly 70 million people expected to be Medicare beneficiaries over the next 20
years, the senior population is an increasingly important focus for the nation’s
health care providers and related organizations.
WellPoint’s seven finalists are recognized for their effectiveness in helping
seniors to receive the clinical and care management support they need through
highly member-focused programs and services. The WellPoint finalists represent
two programs and five individual categories and include:

— Terri Brown, Geriatric Care Manager category
— Cindi Lou Crouse, Clinical Nurse category
— Melissa Trownsell, Clinical Nurse category
— 30-Day Readmission Reduction, Medicare Advantage category
— Cancer Care Support Program, Medicare Advantage category
