Roxanna Castillo Assumes GM Duties at Residence Inn at Galleria

MERRILLVILLE, Ind., Sept. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Chip Young, White Lodging
Regional Vice President has announced the promotion of Roxanna Castillo to the
position of General Manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott Houston Galleria.
“Roxi came to White Lodging after earning her degree in international business
at Stephen F. Austin State University,” said Young. “At that time she was the
Cluster Sales Manager at the Courtyard by Marriott in Sugar Land, Texas a
Houston suburb. I can honestly say that she has proven to be a great asset to
the company during the past seven years.”

Prior to her most recent promotion, Castillo was the General Manager at the
Residence Inn by Marriott in Sugar Land. In this position, she distinguished
herself by earning the Top Guest Service Award for White Lodging’s extended-stay
hotels and a Gold Hotel Award from Marriott International. Castillo also was
named a 2010 Elsa Brunning Award winner, which is given by White Lodging each
year to General Managers who have exemplary guest service scores.

After getting her start in the industry as a Cluster Sales Manager, Castillo’s
next move was to the Residence Inn by Marriott in Sugar Land where she was the
Operations Manager. She was also the acting General Manager for six months until
a new one was named. During this time, the hotel was named White Lodging’s
property of the year for 2005. In 2006, Castillo stepped into the Assistant
General Manager’s role at the hotel.

Because of her knowledge of Sugar Land and the entire metropolitan market, White
Lodging next tapped Castillo to be the Operations Manager at the city’s
Courtyard by Marriott. While in this role, she was responsible for all hotel
operations including housekeeping because of a five-month absence of a
Housekeeping Manager.
