AAA Chicago: June Gas Prices Down Significantly
AURORA, Ill., June 14 /PRNewswire/ — In a definite about-face from past years,
gas prices have dropped significantly during the month of June, giving consumers
a break as the summer driving season commences. AAA Chicago’s most recent Fuel
Gauge Report estimates that in Illinois, regular unleaded gasoline has decreased
23 cents during the past month, forecasting an average cost of $2.82 per gallon
for the month of June, which is $.03 lower per gallon than last year.

In northern Indiana, gas prices average $2.70, which is down 26 cents from May
2010 and down $.13 from June 2009.
“Over the past month, oil prices hit their lowest levels since March 2010,” says
Beth Mosher, AAA Chicago’s spokesperson. “This has brought gas prices down,
which consumers should welcome as summer driving season begins.”
– In Cook County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$3.00, which is down $.22 from last month and $.02 lower than last
year’s price-per-gallon.
– In DuPage County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.88 per gallon, which is a 25-cent decrease from May and even with
last year.
– In Kane County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.86 per gallon, which is 21 cents lower compared to last month and
$.03 lower than June 2009′s price.
– In Lake County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.83 per gallon, which is 23 cents lower than last month and down by
$.03 compared to this time last year.
– In McHenry County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.84 per gallon, which is 26 cents lower than last month’s average and
$.05 lower than June 2009′s price.
– In Will County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.83 per gallon, which is 22 cents lower compared to last month and
$.05 lower compared to last year.
– In Champaign County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.73 per gallon, a decrease of 20 cents from May and a decrease of $.06
from last year.
– In McLean County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.71 per gallon, which is 19 cents lower than last month and $.05 lower
than last year.
– In Peoria County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.72 per gallon, which is down $.18 compared to last month and a $.06
decrease from June 2009.
– In Sangamon County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.63 per gallon, which is 24 cents lower than last month and $.21 lower
than last year.
– In Winnebago County, Ill., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.68 per gallon, a decrease of 28 cents from May and a decrease of $.25
from June 2009.
– In Allen County, Ind., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.66 per gallon, which is an decrease of 23 cents from last month and
$.21 lower than June 2009′s price.
– In Lake County, Ind., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.70 per gallon, a 26-cent decrease from May’s average and a $.13
decrease from a year ago.
– In Porter County, Ind., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages
$2.69 per gallon, which is 29 cents lower than last month and $.14 lower
than last year.
– In St. Joseph County, Ind., self-serve regular unleaded gasoline
averages $2.64 per gallon, which is 25 cents lower compared to last
month and $.19 lower compared to last year.
